Suryakumar Yadav, a prominent Indian hitter, will be participating in his 100th Indian Premier League match for the Mumbai Indians on Friday (April 4). Taking place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, the Mumbai Indians will be competing against the Lucknow Super Giants in the special match that Surya has reserved for them. The right-handed batsman, who is 34 years old, is the eighth cricketer to play 100 or more Indian Premier League matches for the five-time champions with the Indian team.
The Mumbai Indians went to X to release a video shortly before the start of Surya’s 100th Indian Premier League match with Mumbai Indians. In the video, Surya’s teammates were asked to characterize him using a single word.
In contrast to Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Mumbai Indians, who referred to Suryakumar as “Mitra (Friend),” Rohit referred to him as “Chembur.” Surya is referred to as “Chetta” (older brother) by Vignesh Puthur, a spinner for MI who is 24 years old. On the other hand, Ashwani Kumar, a fast bowler who is 23 years old and made his debut in the Indian Premier League, referred to Surya as “Dada” (elder brother).
In a conversation, the great left-handed batsman for MI, Tilak Varma, referred to Surya as “bhai hai mera,” and the left-arm pacer Trent Boult referred to Suryakumar as “Number 11.” Surya is described as fantastic, majestic, phenomenal, killer, and impossible by Mitchell Santner, Kieron Pollard, Ryan Rickelton, Lasith Malinga, and Bevon Jacobs, who are all included in the video. Other individuals who are featured in the video include Bevon Jacobs.
Surya’s record with MI in the Indian Premier League
On April 6, 2012, Surya made his debut in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for the Mumbai Indians against the Pune Warriors India at Wankhede Stadium. However, he was dismissed for a four-ball duck. Before returning to MI in the IPL 2018 mega auction, he had previously spent four seasons playing in the Indian Premier League with the Kolkata Knight Riders. As a result of Surya’s consistent participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL) during the 2018 season, he has established himself as one of the most significant parts of the Mumbai Indians side.
